Challenge # 11- My favorite movie

I don't know that I actually have a favorite movie. However, I do have one that brings back all kinds of good memories so I scrapped that one. In 8th grade Aladdin came out and my BF Emily and I were obsessed with it. LOL!

My best friend Emily and I went and saw Aladdin 9 times in the theater. And we sang the sound track all the time... our siblings wanted to kill us.

Challenge 11: Favorite Movie

Challenge 11 is to scrap our favorite movie. I have several favorites. But I can so relate to "Under the Tuscan Sun." I love this movie because it's so similar to my own life, only instead of Tuscany after a life-changing event, I found the mountains of North Georgia and made them home. And yes, trying to get this wonderful abandoned house fixed up and cleaned up and made into a home was an ordeal...just like the movie...and was how my DH and I met!

So I scrapped this one:

Okay, this one was tough for me. I'm usually one to roll with the punches and just not let things bother me but I do remember one time in elementary school. I was in the talent show reciting the Jabberwocky and froze right in the middle. Well live and learn I say. Here's my LO on it.

Challenge #8 is all about girl talk so I did one on my best friends Emily. She and I have been having some good girl talk for about 16 years now with no end in site.

Emily and I have been friends since jr high. We've shared girl talk about anything and everything, from the boys we had a crush on to the births of our babies. Road Block! challenge # 6

Challenge # 6 was a road block meaning that only one member of the team was supposed to complete it. The challenge was doubly hard for me because not only was it supposed to be a "messy" LO (I'm messy in real life not in my scrapping) but you couldn't use more than 2 patterned papers and no more than 2 elements by the same designer- and there was a minimum of 15 elements required!! Wow, it really made me stretch my scrapping muscles. But luckily I had the killer new photos of Emma to scrap so it wasn't a hardship.

Hi ya'll here's my LO for the 5th challenge of the ADSR.
Journaling reads:
The one thing that has always stuck with me is knowing how to
swim. I was probably swimming before I was walking to hear
my dad's side of the story, but I know my mom is the one
who taught me. I think it's such an important thing to pass along to our
kids. So now I'm teaching my daughter. From Mother to child
is how it's been done in my family and I hope someday it will contiune.
How to swim and stay safe around the water,
be it a pool, lake, river or ocean.
And always wear -
SUNSCREEN!

Ok, I'm really struggling here! There have been many people and experiences that have touched and molded my life. But to journal about them? I sit here staring at my screen wondering, "What the heck am I gonna do?"

It's not that I can't think of anything to scrap; I can think of lots of experiences and people to scrap. I can think of words to say; but I'm too wordy to make anything fit on a page! I can think of simpler examples, but don't have pictures that I feel would match them.

Amy and I have finished our next challenge. We used 2 pics of Amy's daughter, Jassie grunge papers, flower and lace tie from "denim flair" by Ruth Singer. Amy made the ribbon and bow; and I made the cluster and background layout. Do you realize how long it takes to make all those little X's for those stitches?!? ~sigh~
While this is good practice for me, one of these days, I'm going to find a faster way of doing this stuff! *LOL*

Amy also introduced me to Hello.com. What a kewl little program! We could scrap and chat at the same time while showing each other what we were each doing, LIVE TIME! Of course the down side is that poor Amy could see how truly slow I am at this stuff and had to be tortured by my "end of the road" ambivalence....get all the way to the end and change my mind a dozen times about placement and colors. She finally said "I think that's fine" which we all know was her very nice and gracious way of saying, "TAKE YOU HAND AWAY FROM THE MOUSE, STOP MESSING WITH IT FOR PETE SAKE AND HIT THE SAVE BUTTON!!" *LOL*

I've officially started the race! Here's my first challenge for the ADSR #2! We scrapped an amazing museum and mine is the National Postal Museum. I've been there twice now and I love seeing all the old letters, the feeling of looking back into our nation's history. But it's a different view than you'd normally get because this deals more with the personal. You get to see letters written home from the military, the very first mail order catalog. Stamps that honor the past and present. It's cool to see how effective communication has really impacted our world now and in the past.
This LO has just about zero credits. I made the paper bkgd, the font is Arial and the photos either I took or are from the National Postal Museum's website.

I can't wait for the new challenge tomorrow!
